Sports Center
The South Gate Sports Center offers a variety of sports related activities to the community, such as:
- Facility memberships that give you access to the sports center and the swim stadium
- Sports classes for youth and adults
- Sports leagues
Classes run for duration of 9 weeks, whereas adult sports leagues run for a total of 11 weeks. If you are interested in any of our programs, memberships, or in reserving one of our fields, please contact our office at 323-563-5445.
Membership Information
There are 2 types of memberships, so 1 is guaranteed to fit your budgetary and fitness needs. Download the Sports Center Brochure (PDF) for more information.
The Total Access membership package includes unlimited access to the fitness center, group exercise classes, basketball gymnasium, racquetball courts, swimming pool, game room and locker rooms. The “Total Access” membership also includes a free personal assessment and training session with the Fitness Coordinator.
The Basic membership package includes unlimited access to basketball gymnasium, swimming pool, game room, and locker rooms only.
Total Access Membership
- Teens (13-17) $19/month
- Adults (18-61) $24/month
- Seniors (62 +) $19/month

- Family Plan $48/month (Please Note: Family plan includes: 2 adults, 3 teens/youths)
Basic Membership

Sports Center Facilities & Programs
Fitness Center
The Fitness Center is equipped with state of the art cardiovascular and strength training equipment. The cardiovascular equipment consists of:
- 2 recumbent bikes
- 2 stair steppers
- 5 ellipticals
- 5 treadmills
- 2 bench presses
- 3 adjustable benches
- 10 pieces of strength machines that target the entire body
- A 5 station multi-stack weight system
- A complete dumbbell set up to 75 pounds
- An incline press
- Power rack
- Squat rack
Group Exercise Classes
Current classes that are offered:
- Aqua Aerobics
- Boot Camp
- Step Aerobics
- Yoga
- Zumba
Basketball Gymnasium
The large and spacious basketball gymnasium has two full courts that are available for open play basketball, volleyball, and dodgeball. Open play basketball is year round except during JAA basketball games and special events. Open play Volleyball is Tuesday nights from 6 - 8:30 p.m. and open play Dodgeball is Friday nights 6 - 8:30 p.m. Open play is free with a membership or $4 for the daily admission.
Racquetball Courts
There are 2 fully enclosed air conditioned racquetball courts for your recreation and competitive needs. Courts can be reserved on an hourly basis and must have 2 names to reserve a court for each hour. The Racquetball courts are included free with a Total Access Membership or $7 for the daily admission.
