Industrial Waste (IW)

Industrial waste (IW) plan checks are necessary to protect the sewer systems from harmful and toxic substances. Through these plan checks, the City is able to ensure that producing sites are meeting the allowable local limits through prevention and/or onsite owned treatment. The following facilities qualify for Industrial Waste plan checks and/or permits:

- Agricultural production, food processing and handling
- Mining, manufacturing and processing
- Retail trade and services (including STEP system connections)
- Waste disposal facilities
- Residences connected to STEP systems
- Miscellaneous

Please provide the following documents in order to submit for IW plan checks. Any applications that are submitted without the attached documents or fees will be deemed incomplete and will not be reviewed. All fees must be paid by cash or check, made out to the City of South Gate. For additional information on Industrial Waste, please click here.
