Dr.Glenn T. Seaborg was a South Gate resident who went on to become a Nobel Prize winner for his work in Chemistry. In 1991, his family donated the home to the City of South Gate, with the intent of preserving this historic building in his honor. Currently, the City is working to relocate and improve the existing structure so it can serve as an outdoor display. In addition to the building upgrades, the project will include parking modifications, new walkways, landscape, and irrigation improvements. The project has started construction and is expected to be completed by early 2019.
