The South Gate Police Department recognizes the need to work together with our citizens during this challenging time and to provide the best service we can to our residents and business partners. We understand that the closure of schools, travel limitations, and recommendations to shelter in place have significantly impacted all of our lives. Because of these impacts to our citizens, the South Gate Police Department will suspend all parking enforcement citations for residential street sweeping and trash pick-up violations effective immediately until further notice. Street sweeping and trash pick-up service will continue so please be mindful of this and be courteous to your neighbors when you are positioning your vehicles.
All other public safety related parking enforcement violations including red zone violations, blocking fire hydrants, and blocking driveways will continue to be enforced. The South Gate Police Department stands with you during this time and we will get through this together.#sogate #southgate
PARKING ENFORCEMENT UPDATE:
Starting on Thursday, March 26, 2020, the South Gate Police Department will suspend enforcement of 72 hour parking violations on residential streets. The South Gate Police Department also suspended enforcement for street sweeping and trash pick up violations earlier this month. Both of these changes will stay in effect until further notice. Other parking violations, with the exception of the ones mentioned above, will remain in effect and will still be enforced. We are facing new challenges in our lives and the South Gate Police Department will continue to examine and modify our operations when it best serves the needs of our community during these difficult times. We ask that you not abuse these changes and remain courteous and respectful to the needs of your neighbors and fellow residents during this time. Thank you.
