Immigration Rights Resources
Published on January 30, 2025
Federal agencies will continue to oversee immigration matters, as has been the case historically. News reports have recently highlighted the escalation of immigration enforcement activities by ICE and other federal agencies under the guidance of the new administration. Congresswoman Nanette Barragan's office has provided resources to address the growing concerns.
The South Gate Police Department does not have the authority to enforce immigration laws and has never asked for immigration status. This practice will continue, and the City and Police Department continue to be committed to serving every member of the community.
For any issues related to immigration enforcement, Congresswoman Nanette Barragan's office is ready to assist. For additional questions, please contact her Field Representative, Ernesto Gomez, at (310) 831-1799 or via email at Ernesto.Gomez@Mail.House.Gov.
